ARMY OF ANYONE Making Beautiful Music

Jonathan Cohen of Billboard.com reports that ARMY OF ANYONE, the new rock act featuring FILTER's Richard Patrick and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS principals Robert and Dean DeLeo, is introducing itself with the single "Goodbye", which is No. 21 this week on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart. The group's self-titled debut arrives Nov. 14 via Firm Music.

Patrick and the DeLeo brothers had crossed paths many times over the years in their past bands, and decided to work together after a productive writing session at Patrick's house. "Robert was driving over and listening to some of my stuff. He knew I liked stuff in D and D minor, so he was putting a song together in his head. Once he showed up, he started playing me this beautiful music, and that turned into the song 'Better Place' on the album. They recorded everything in one day."

"We just had this connection," he continues. "We were like, if this is a great song, what would a whole record sound like? Then what would a tour be like? We started thinking about all the possibilities."
